The Challenge

The transition of remote work has been one of the most Zoom dependent and call based eras of the workplace. Trying to locate never-ending meeting links and calendar invites has been a difficult adjustment for people.

The Solution

Our goal is to enhance user experience when calendaring, specifically in terms of delivering familiarity in action and streamlining the "call joining" process. Skedule provides users with a  space for efficient schedule comparison and access to relevant links and calendar information.

Background

This project was headed by myself and Nidhi Jampana as a mentoring project for interns with no prior experience to UX design. Through Creative Tech Design, my co-lead and I built templates for brainstorm and design sessions to help our interns cultivate their UX skills.

Pain Points

The research in this project was heavily dependent on understanding what general calendar and non-calendar users prefer, specifically when it comes to making scheduling decisions. Using FigJam, we brainstormed survey questions and potential additions and reasonable implementations that we could incorporate into our product. The lesson we aimed to teach with this step of the process: organization and understanding what can feasibly be included

The second part of our research involved dissecting our survey results and creating user profiles based on our findings. Each user profile was served to highlight specific pain points and include direct problem to feature resolution.

End Product

The instructional and mentoring aspect of the project was very rewarding as we were able to watch our interns learn specific UX related skills. This guided project was a quarter-long product that we presented to our larger team.

Some valuable moments within our team involved: setting & meeting weekly deadlines, addressing the importance of design iterations, and most importantly team negotiation.

Big shoutout to Nidhi for having my back during this project - couldn't have asked for a better teammate!
